How to train your own AI profile in FilterPixel?

Watch the quick video above, or follow the steps below. A custom AI profile teaches FilterPixel your editing style — trained on your own edited photos — so one click can edit a whole shoot the way you would.

Before you start — what you'll need

A Lightroom catalog (.lrcat file) containing your edited work.
Around 3,000 edited images in that catalog. That's the amount the AI needs to learn your style reliably — if you select fewer, FilterPixel will ask you to add more photos before training can start.

Step 1 — Create your profile
From the Home screen, open AI Profiles in the sidebar.
Click + Create Your Own Profile (top right).
A short guided tour walks you through each field — click Next to move through it.

Step 2 — Name and configure it
Give your profile a name you'll recognize later.
Choose what you mostly work with — RAW or JPEG.
Choose what the profile is for — Color or Black & White photos.

Step 3 — Upload your Lightroom catalog
Click Select Files (or drag & drop) and pick your .lrcat file.
FilterPixel reads the catalog and lists its folders with photo counts.
Keep the Edited filter checked — the AI learns from photos you've actually edited. You can also filter by star rating, color, or flag to narrow the training set to your best work.
Check the photo count at the bottom — remember, you want around 3,000.

Step 4 — Start training
Click Create Profile. Training runs in three steps with a progress bar — you can keep using FilterPixel while it works, and a banner keeps you posted.

If your selection was under 3,000 photos, you'll see a notice asking you to import more photos before the training can complete — add another folder or loosen your filters to reach the target.

Step 5 — Wait for it to be ready
When you see "AI Profile creation is completed!", the profile has been created — but give it around 4 to 5 hours before you use it. That's when the actual style training finishes in the background and the profile becomes available for editing.

After that, your profile appears alongside the built-in styles in the Edit tab — pick it and edit an entire shoot in your own signature look (see How to edit your photos using FilterPixel).

Good to know

The more consistent your 3,000 training photos are, the more consistent the profile's results — a single genre and style trains better than a mix.
You can tune the profile even further later by training with more photos.
