Get Started with Filterpixel Culling

Create Your First Project in FilterPixel


( This article is for users who have access to filterpixel v4 beta )

Starting your first project in FilterPixel is simple and fast. Whether you're working with RAW or JPEG files, the platform is designed to get you set up in just a few clicks.

Step 1: Add Your Images



To begin, either:

Click the Create Your New Project button, or

Drag and drop a folder containing your images directly into the workspace.



Step 2: Name Your Project



After adding your images, you’ll be prompted to:

Enter a project name

Choose the type of shoot that best fits your project

Then, simply click Next to move forward.



Step 3 (Optional): Set a Magic Number or Fine-Tune with Advanced Options

If you have a target number of images you want to keep, enter that number here. FilterPixel will prioritize selecting that many top images for you.

Fine-Tune with Advanced Options
Customize your culling process by adjusting how the system handles:

Duplicate detection

Blink detection

Focus quality evaluation



Step 4: Start Culling



Click Save & Start Culling to begin. FilterPixel will automatically analyze your images based on the settings you’ve selected.

Once the culling process is complete, your photos will be automatically organized into three different views based on your preference that you have added during your onboarding process.

⭐ Start Rating



Photos can be rated using a star system based on their quality and relevance.



🎨 Color Rating



Images can be labeled with color codes for easy visual filtering and categorization.



🏷️ Tag-Based Grouping



Images can be grouped by tags like Best, Review, and Rejected to help you quickly sort and finalize your selection.

You have complete control to change these selections by right clicking or by using Keyboard Shortcuts.
