# What is Instant Profile. How to create an Instant Profile.

${vimeo}[What is Instant Profile. How to create an Instant Profile.](1225064465)

An Instant Profile turns a Lightroom preset you already own into a FilterPixel AI profile — in about **5 to 10 minutes**, with no catalog and no long training wait. The AI applies your preset's look and corrects **white balance and exposure on every photo individually**, so each image lands right instead of getting one flat setting.
## Instant Profile or Style DNA?
FilterPixel offers two ways to build a profile of your own:
| **Type** | **What it does** |
| **Instant Profile** | Takes 5 to 10 minutes. Upload any preset and turn it into an AI profile that corrects white balance and exposure per photo. |
| **Style DNA** | Takes up to 3–4 hours. Upload a Lightroom catalog to create your style — white balance, exposure, colours and more, along with crop and straighten. |

Use an **Instant Profile** when you have a preset and want it working today. Choose **Style DNA** when you want FilterPixel to learn your full editing style from your back catalogue — see *How to train your own AI profile in FilterPixel*.
## Before you start
You will need a Lightroom preset file (**.XMP**) on your computer.
## Step 1 — Open the preset flow
1.       After culling, switch to the **EDIT** tab.
2.       In the **AI Profiles** panel on the right, click **Add your preset**.

## Step 2 — Name and configure it
Give the profile a name you will recognise later, then choose whether it is for **RAW or JPEG** files, and for **colour or black & white** photos.

## Step 3 — Choose Instant Profile
On the **Choose your Profile Type** screen, click **Upload a Preset** under **Instant Profile**.

## Step 4 — Upload your .XMP
Drag your preset onto the upload area — or browse for it — then click **Create Profile**.

## Step 5 — Tune three anchor photos
FilterPixel shows three photos from your shoot, each as a **before and after** pair. For each one:
1.       Adjust **White Balance** — Temperature and Tint.
2.       Adjust **Exposure**.
3.       Click **Next Photo**.
That is all the AI needs in order to learn how to place your look on any photo. There is nothing else to fill in.

## Step 6 — Save
On the third photo, click **Save**. You will see **Creating your Instant Profile…**, and then **Profile created successfully** moments later. Your profile now appears in **Your Profiles**, badged **INSTANT**.

## Step 7 — Use it on your shoot
1.       Click your new profile to select it.
2.       Choose the photos you want to edit — for example, tick **Highlights** in Quick Filters.
3.       Click **Edit … Photos**.
4.       When editing finishes, open any photo and use the **Before / After** toggle to see your style applied.

| Good to know
•         Pick representative anchor photos. A mix of lighting conditions gives the AI more to learn from than three near-identical frames.
•         No waiting. Unlike Style DNA, an Instant Profile is ready to use as soon as it is created.
•         Your profiles sit alongside the built-in styles, so you can switch between them from project to project.
•         Any Lightroom preset works — including presets you bought or downloaded, as long as you have the .XMP file.
